This custom home was built for a very discerning client with an eye for the charm exhibited in historic low country homes throughout coastal North & South Carolina. Sheri Calvin of Ballard Architects in Wilmington, together with Pam Baker of Baker-Macior Designs worked with the owner to develop what is very unique and charming waterfront home on Hewletts Creek. The details of the home set it apart from other homes of this genre and gave our artisans a chance to demonstrate their abilities.
1028 Windlea Run, Greenville Sound, Wilmington, NC Another exceptional example of a Low Country waterfront home. This home was a custom design by noted designer William Poole of Wilmington. Known around the world for his traditional southern style homes, Mr. Poole once again left his beautiful signature on the banks of Hewletts Creek.
The clients had a flare for design and the homes gracious foyer with arched tunnel to the Great Room is flanked by your traditional southern stair case. The arch motif is carried through on the side of the Great Room where one enters the Kitchen and Breakfast Room looking out over the water. There is a thickened wall with a graceful elliptical arched opening creating book cases where one walks through to gain access to kitchen area.
